The Bachelor of Accountancy with Honours is a three-year, direct honours degree programme designed through a series of consultations with various industry heads, accreditation bodies, and external faculty consultants.

This degree programme will hone students’ critical and analytical skills in addition to the requisite knowledge needed for a professional accounting career in commerce, industry, government or public practice. Graduates will be specialists with deep skill-sets ready for the accounting sector.

As accountants’ roles involve constant communication, the accountancy curriculum will enhance students’ soft skills through interactive activities such as oral and written presentations, as well as individual and team-based assignments which will be regular features in the programme.

Curriculum

The curriculum will include various modules such as auditing, data analytics, finance, financial accounting, management accounting, and taxation.

Some of the highlights include the 8-month Integrated Work Study Programme in areas of auditing, business consulting, data analytics, risk management, taxation, etc. During the IWSP, students will undertake an Applied Analytics Capstone module to solve real industry problems using data analytics tools. In their final year, students can choose 1 from 5 specialisation areas (Applied Finance, Audit, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, and Tax) to further pursue advanced professional core knowledge. Students will also have Regional Exposure to Accounting Practice in ASEAN countries.

Accreditation of the Programme

The programme is accredited by the following professional bodies:

  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

Career Opportunities

Accountants are highly sought-after across diverse industries such as banking, management consulting and the service sector. Graduates can join the national accountancy body of Singapore (ISCA) as Associates and extend their professional qualifications by completing the Singapore CA (Qualification) professional programme and becoming a Chartered Accountant of Singapore or CA (Singapore), which will enhance their career opportunities.
