Chua Thian Poh Bursary
The Chua Thian Poh Bursary was established to support financially disadvantaged but deserving undergraduates pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
About the Donor
The Bursary is made possible by a gift from the Chua Foundation, which aims to foster an inclusive community for the underprivileged in Singapore and to inspire others to contribute. The Chua Foundation was established in 2015 in honour of the family’s late matriarch, Madam Seah Sar, who during her living years emphasised and demonstrated the importance of giving back to society, lending a helping hand whenever necessary. Madam Seah had humble beginnings, was born in a village in Fujian, China and arrived in Singapore after WWII. Growing up with little formal education, she understood the importance of education and kindness. While running a tight ship at home, she also finds time for those in need. Today, the Chua Foundation is being funded by her children who fondly remembers their Mother and the values she stood for.
