Jacqueline & David Poon Financial Scholarship

The Jacqueline & David Poon Financial Scholarship was established to support financially disadvantaged and deserving undergraduates pursuing any of the full-time undergraduate degree programmes offered by the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Are pursuing any of the full-time undergraduate degree programmes offered by the Institute;

  • Are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents;

  • Have achieved outstanding academic results as determined by the Institute in its sole discretion;

  • Have made significant contributions beyond academic studies to the Institute or the community as determined by the Institute in its sole discretion; and

  • Have a monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of less than or equal to MOE’s prevailing PCI Eligibility Criteria applicable during the Academic Year of the award.

Benefits and Obligation of Scholarship

  • Each scholarship is valued at S$15,000 and is applicable for one academic year.

  • The Scholarship shall be used for the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, expenses for any overseas immersion programmes conducted by the Institute, and fees for other educational activities organised by the Institute.

  • Recipients who have already been awarded the Scholarship for one year of study may apply to receive and be considered for the Scholarship in a subsequent year of study, subject to the fulfilment of the above selection criteria, and with the recommendation of the Institute and the selection by the Selection Committee.

  • The recipients may accept other scholarships, bursaries, grants or awards concurrently.

About the Donor

Established in 2024, The David and Jacqueline Poon Financial Scholarship is dedicated to supporting exemplary students who are embarking on their educational journey at SIT. The scholarship aims to create equitable educational opportunities and foster the development of creative and reflective global SITizens. Ultimately, the donors wish to nurture future leaders committed to making substantial contributions to the business world and society at large.

How To Apply

Applications for Public Bursaries, Donated Bursaries & Scholarships will commence in July 2022. Do keep a look out for more information which will be sent to your SIT e-mail address.

Matriculated students may access the online application form via the SIT Student Intranet - IN4SIT.

Applicants will need to complete and submit the online application form after uploading all required supporting documents through the application portal by the given deadline. Scholarship applicants are expected to upload an endorsed Letter of Recommendation and their SIT Record of Achievement (where applicable).
