Terms and Conditions of the Award

    SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (SIT) SCHOLARSHIP 

    Terms and Conditions Governing the Scholarship 

    1. The Scholarship will cover the following: 
      i. Tuition fees based on the prevailing rate for the same programme for Singapore Citizens, and 
      ii. Miscellaneous fees.
       
    2. Singapore Permanent Residents and/or International recipients are required to take up the MOE Tuition Grant to receive the scholarship.
       
    3. Singapore Citizen recipients are allowed to hold a Public Bursary (Higher Education Community Bursary or Higher Education Bursary) administered by SIT.
       
    4. Learners are not permitted to concurrently hold other scholarships/sponsorships and will have to repay the scholarship if disbursement has already taken place, unless expressly permitted to do so by the University.
       
    5. Any concurrent holding of the SIT Scholarship with an external award that is not administered by SIT is subject to approval of the University on a case-by-case basis. Learners are required to inform SIT if they are in receipt of such awards.
       
    6. The Scholarship is tenable for the full duration of your degree programme at SIT subject to you maintaining a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 for each academic year.
       
    7. No bond is required of the recipient, except from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore PRs and International students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.
       
    8. Recipients of this Scholarship are expected to conscientiously participate in the SIT Scholarship Engagement Programme (SEP) and outreach activities.  
       
    9. The Scholarship will be withdrawn, and repayment may be required under circumstances including but not limited to the following: 
      i. If the recipient’s conduct is deemed unsatisfactory by the University based on the University’s prevailing student Policies & Guides (including but not limited to the SIT Student Honour Code, Academic Integrity Policy, Code of Conduct for Learners, etc.). 
      ii. If the recipient voluntarily withdraws from or is terminated from the degree programme. 
      iii. Failure to meet the attendance requirements for the SEP and outreach activities.
       
    10. The University may determine, at its sole discretion and depending on circumstance, the amount of monies to be repaid, whether wholly or any portion thereof, and may consider factors including, but not limited to, the amount of monies disbursed, duration of benefits received, and any mitigating circumstance.
       
    11. If the recipient has received the Scholarship monies, and the recipient subsequently withdraws/is terminated from their programme of study, or if the Scholarship is withdrawn for any reason, the Learner shall refund the fees provided pursuant to this Scholarship back to the University.
       
    12. Recipients of this Scholarship shall consent to the release of personal and academic information, including but not limited to grades (GPA), Code of Conduct records, and Records of Achievement (ROA), for the purpose of the annual scholarship renewal review.
       
    13. These terms and conditions for this Scholarship may be updated from time to time. For the latest terms and conditions, please refer to SIT website. Any updates to the terms and conditions shall take effect as of the date of posting on SIT’s website.

    DONATED AWARDS 

    Terms and Conditions Governing the Award: 

    1. This one-time Award is tenable for one academic year only. 
       
    2. No bond is required of the recipient. 
       
    3. The Award will be used to fund the recipient’s educational expenses. 
       
    4. The Award may be withdrawn if the conduct of the recipient is deemed unsatisfactory based on the University’s prevailing student Policies & Guides (including but not limited to the SIT Student Honour Code, Academic Integrity Policy, Code of Conduct for Learners, etc.) and SIT reserves the right to impose repayment on a case-by-case basis. 
       
    5. Learners who have graduated, withdrawn, or are terminated from their programme will not be entitled to receive the Award. 
       
    6. Where Learners are not entitled to receive the Award or if the Award is withdrawn for any reason, the University may determine, at its sole discretion and depending on circumstance, the amount of monies to be refunded to the University if the Award has been disbursed. In determining the amount to be refunded, the University may consider factors including, but not limited to, the amount of monies disbursed, the duration of benefits received, and any mitigating circumstance. This clause and clauses 6 and 7 above shall survive the termination of the Award. 
       
    7. If the recipient has received the Award, and the recipient subsequently withdraws/is terminated from their programme of study, or if the Award is withdrawn for any reason, the Learner shall refund the Award back to the University. This clause shall survive the termination of the Award. 
       
    8. Recipients of this donated Award, are expected to conscientiously participate in donor stewardship efforts. This may include writing thank-you letters to the donor, media engagements to publicise gifts to SIT and other events e.g. donor appreciation events, receptions, award presentations and others. 
       
    9. Recipients of this donated Award will be required to release personal and academic information such as grades (GPA) and Records of Achievement (ROA) for the annual report to the Award provider. 
       
    10. This Award was made possible by our generous donors. 

     

    Important to note: 

    • “Award” is defined as the scholarship, bursary, and/or grant that has been awarded to you.
       
    • Notwithstanding clause 2 above, Learners are not permitted to concurrently hold scholarships/sponsorships that offers coverage beyond than your tuition fees within the same Academic Year with this Award and will have to repay the Award if disbursement has already taken place. Any concurrent holding of the Award with a scholarship/sponsorship/bursary is subject to approval of the university on a case-by-case basis.
       
    • Learners shall ensure that they have an active Credit Bank Account in IN4SIT for SIT to credit the scholarship payment net of outstanding fees (where applicable).
       
    • These terms and conditions for this Award may be updated from time to time. For the latest terms and conditions, please refer to SIT website. Any updates to the terms and conditions shall take effect as of the date of posting on SIT’s website.
