Introduction 

The SAF CE Master's Sponsorship Programme equips eligible SAF Officers with a Master’s degree through full-time or part-time study after completing the Command and Staff Course (CSC). SAF Officers who have graduated from Phase 1 of CSC/CSC[E] will be able to apply for any one of the following SIT Masters programmes.

Master's by Coursework

SIT Master of Science in Electrical and Electronic

Master's by Research

Master of Engineering

With the following specialisations: 

  • Civil Engineering 

  • Mechanical Engineering 

  • Chemical Engineering

Admission Requirements

Master of Science in Electrical and Electronic 

Applicant must have 

  • a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognised university; and 
  • at least one year of relevant post bachelor’s work experience (including internship experience) 

Relevant degrees include: 

  1. BEng (Hons) Electrical Power Engineering degree awarded by Newcastle University (AY2013 to AY2016 intakes); or 
  2. BEng (Hons) Electrical Power Engineering degree jointly awarded by SIT and Newcastle University (AY2017 intakes onwards).

Master of Engineering: 
  • Current employees of companies. 
  • Recognised Bachelor degree qualifications and a research project identified by the company. 
  • At least an Honours with Distinction in a relevant discipline, Or an Honours with Merit in a relevant discipline with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.

    Step 1: Develop a Research Project Proposal with our Faculty Member

    Explore our faculty directory and identify a faculty member that you would like to collaborate with. Reach out to your selected faculty member together with your project supervisor from your organisation to explore and scope your research project.

    Step 2: Sign Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA)

    Once the research project proposal has been finalised, complete the Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA) between your company and SIT.

    Step 3: Apply Online

    SIT will inform you to submit via postgraduate application portal after the RCA is signed. More details on the requirements of the application will be shared with you

    Who can apply for the CE Master's Programme?

    SAF Officers who graduated from Phase 1 of the CSC/CSC[E] will be able to apply for the SAF CE Master’s sponsorship programme.

    You have to score a culmulative GPA of 2.5 and above for the 5 CSC or 4 CSC[E] modules.

    Enrolled SAF Officers must complete the master’s degree programme within 3 years, from the day of admission.
