SIT's Punggol Campus

Established in 2009, SIT currently has six distributed campuses, with its main campus situated in Dover.

With the growing student population, we will consolidate existing campuses into a single campus in Punggol, located in the north-east of Singapore. Our new campus will provide students with new collaborative learning spaces, high-tech labs and flexible spaces for learning to happen outside the classroom.

Students can look forward to working alongside our industry partners in the business park, located next to the university.

How were the needs and expectations of students and staff taken into consideration when designing the new campus?

The journey towards creating our campus at Punggol was a collaborative effort from the get-go. From 2016 to 2019, we conducted numerous visioning workshops, ideation and brainstorming sessions, as well as interviews with over 500 student and staff. This inclusive approach helped shape the SIT Punggol Campus concept plan and design requirements.

How is the campus uniquely designed to support applied learning? Are there dedicated study areas for students?

The Punggol Campus will provide a vibrant learning environment that underpins SIT’s applied learning pedagogy. Residing right in the heart of PDD as well as the Punggol heartland creates many opportunities for cross-collaboration between SIT, industry, and the community. Students and faculty staff will be involved in applied research projects as well as community activities.

Such collaborations enable our students to stay competitive amid the fast-evolving skill sets required by industry and groom them to seamlessly transition into their chosen careers. SIT students will especially benefit from these partnerships, by leveraging the expertise of industry through ‘industry teaching laboratories’ as well as the Living Labs.

There are several dedicated spaces for students. These areas, from cosy study nooks to collaborative project zones, are specially designed to support our students’ study sessions and project work.
