Temasek Foundation - Nithiah Nandan Arumugam Scholarship
The Temasek Foundation - Nithiah Nandan Arumugam Scholarship was established to nurture and recognise talented students pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree programme at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
Each Scholarship is valued at $7,000 per annum.
The Scholarship shall be disbursed as follows:
- (i) $5,000 for the Recipient’s educational expenses.
- (ii) $2,000 for the nominated Recipient’s family member as a Family Recognition Award.
About the Donor
Temasek Foundation launched this Scholarship in honour of Mr Nithiah Nandan s/o Arumugam. Two other eminent unionists – Mr G Muthukumarasamy and Mr Nachiappan RK Sinniah – were also honoured by Temasek Foundation with a scholarship named after each. The Temasek Foundation - Nithiah Nandan Arumugam Scholarship and the Temasek Foundation - G Muthukumarasamy Scholarship are available at SIT.
Mr Nithiah Nandan s/o Arumugam was a well-respected unionist who devoted his life to uplifting workers’ lives, especially low wage workers. He chose to remain a daily rated worker for 20 years, repeatedly turning down promotion opportunities to continue championing his co-workers’ training and skills-upgrading needs. In doing so, he helped more than 2,000 daily rated workers move on to better lives.

How To Apply
Applications for Public Bursaries, Donated Bursaries & Scholarships will commence in July 2022. Do keep a look out for more information which will be sent to your SIT e-mail address.
Matriculated students may access the online application form via the SIT Student Intranet - IN4SIT.
Applicants will need to complete and submit the online application form after uploading all required supporting documents through the application portal by the given deadline. Scholarship applicants are expected to upload an endorsed Letter of Recommendation and their SIT Record of Achievement (where applicable).
