Tech for Good is an annual innovation challenge that celebrates assistive technology and inclusivity. It is organised by one of CLASIC’s community partners – Engineering Good, which is a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on improving the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and low-income families through the use of infocomm technologies and engineering design.

In 2021, SIT co-produced Tech for Good with Engineering Good, which brings together youths from 15 to 25 years of age to design and create solutions for PwDs and their families or caregivers.

CLASIC recognises the benefits of exposing students to design thinking that will help them solve practical problems, strengthen critical thinking, promote teamwork, and build project management skills.

CLASIC partnered Engineering Good to co-host Tech for Good 2021. Assistant Professor Padma Rao and Assistant Professor Nicholas Teo  conducted workshops for participating mentors and students at the pre-challenge virtual boot camp on 7 Aug 2021 as part of the journey for Tech for Good. In addition, a group of SIT faculty  volunteered to be mentors to the students.

CLASIC supported SIT student teams taking part in the Tech for Good innovation challenge festival  held on 6 Nov 2021.
