Class Giving Roadshows 2023 Engages More Than 400 Students

SITizens learn more about building a culture of giving and how their support will make a difference to their peers and juniors.

Class Giving Roadshow

Held over a span of three days on the 10th, 11th and 19th of July, Class Giving 2023 has successfully reached out to more than 400 SITizens via physical booths at SIT@NP, SIT@NYP and SIT@Dover.

The roadshow aims to help students, not just the graduating cohort, to understand the transformative impact that Class Giving will have on future SITizens. Class Champions were also at the roadshows to rally and share their experiences with fellow schoolmates who are interested in learning more, as well as the platforms that are available for them to contribute.

Mr Ramasamy S/O Subramaniam, one of the 78 Class Champions for this year’s campaign from the Mechanical Engineering Class of 2023, says that he would like to play his part in fostering a culture of giving back at SIT by encouraging more students to find out about the annual Class Giving initiative. He also adds: “I was able to connect with some of the students at SIT@NP because I know many of them personally as we were from the same degree programme. It felt good to advocate about the Class Giving campaign to them and I was very happy to see some of them donating to the cause.”

The annual Class Giving fundraising campaign – driven by the year’s graduating SITizens – supports the SIT Bursary, one of the most accessible financial aid instruments at SIT for financially disadvantaged students. Valued at $3,000 each, the bursary will help recipients cover some of their tuition fees and living expenses.
