Automated External Defibrillator (AED) boxes are typically mounted on building walls . Placing them at visible and easy-to-access locations can help save the lives of cardiac-arrest victims during emergencies. However, they are currently not available at large outdoor areas and parks where there are no walls to mount the boxes on.

Upon usage of the AED, photographs of the user with date and time stamp will be captured and sent to SCDF’s and SPF’s Operations Centre via SMS. SCDF will also be able to dispatch an ambulance immediately when the AED is engaged. The CCTV surveillance is primarily to deter malicious acts, theft, and mischief.
