SBF Foundation - SIT Scholarship

The SBF Foundation - SIT Scholarship was established to support deserving students pursuing full-time Engineering or Health Sciences undergraduate degree programmes at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • First-year students pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree programme (in Engineering or Health Sciences) that is conferred by SIT (including joint degree programmes) at the Institute.
  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • Have achieved good academic results with minimum GPA of 3.0 (for polytechnic graduates) or University Admission Score of more than 75 (for A-Level graduates).
  • Monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of $1,000 or less.
  • Good performance at selection interviews.

Benefits and Obligation of Scholarship

  • Each Scholarship, valued at $10,000, is applicable for one (1) academic year.
  • The Scholarship shall be used for the recipients' educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, or expenses related to approved regional study trips or educational activities organised by the Institute.
  • Recipients of this Scholarship may continue to receive this scholarship in a subsequent year of study, provided that good academic results are maintained, and with the recommendation of the Institute and the selection by the Selection Committee.
  • Recipients shall be involved in at least 2 community support projects during the course of their undergraduate studies. These projects may be organized by SIT, SBF Foundation, or the students themselves through the Student Clubs and Student Management Committees at SIT.
  • The Scholarship Recipients shall form an SBF Foundation - SIT Alumni network to engage in programmes and initiatives (such as fireside chats and mentorship programmes) with SBF and SBF Foundation.

About the Donor

The Scholarship is made possible by a gift from the SBF Foundation, which was established by the Singapore Business Federation in 2013. The Foundation aims to help Singapore’s business community give back to society by reaching out and transforming the lives of Singapore’s less-privileged, and it does this by actively promoting corporate social responsibility and corporate philanthropy, as well as providing advancement of education through partnership with the business community. 

How To Apply

Applications for Public Bursaries, Donated Bursaries & Scholarships will commence in July 2022. Do keep a look out for more information which will be sent to your SIT e-mail address.

Matriculated students may access the online application form via the SIT Student Intranet - IN4SIT.

Applicants will need to complete and submit the online application form after uploading all required supporting documents through the application portal by the given deadline. Scholarship applicants are expected to upload an endorsed Letter of Recommendation and their SIT Record of Achievement (where applicable).
