Professor Lam Khin Yong is Senior Advisor (International Engagements) at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). He helps shape and advance SIT’s international engagement strategy by leveraging global networks and partnerships to strengthen international collaborations, expand opportunities for student mobility and industry attachments, and support industry-driven research and innovation. 

Prof Lam brings extensive experience in academic leadership, research, innovation and industry engagement. Prior to joining SIT, he held several senior leadership appointments at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), including Vice President (Industry), Senior Vice President (Research), Acting Provost and Chief of Staff. He played a key role in developing strategic partnerships with leading multinational companies, universities and public agencies, advancing international research collaborations and industry innovation initiatives. 

Before joining NTU, Prof Lam held senior leadership positions at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), where he was the Founding Executive Director of the Institute of High-Performance Computing and the ASTAR Graduate Academy. 

An accomplished researcher, Prof Lam is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, a recipient of the President’s Science and Technology Medal and the French Legion of Honour. He holds degrees from Imperial College London and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School. 

Professor Lam is an Authority Member of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.
