Parental Mediation
In today’s connected world, parents often grapple with questions such as:
- Should I give my child a handphone?
- Is it appropriate for my preschooler to use my tablet?
- How can I manage my children’s screen time and device use in a healthy way?
This session will equip parents with practical strategies and insights to guide their children’s digital journey — from preschoolers taking their first steps with technology, to teenagers navigating the complex online landscape.
Drawing on research and real-life case studies, A/Prof Jiow Hee Jhee and Ms Adeline Tay will share how parents can strike a balance between setting boundaries and empowering their children to become responsible, discerning digital users. Parents will learn how to establish positive media habits, foster open communication, and transform technology into a tool that strengthens rather than disrupts family relationships.
