Membrane technology has developed rapidly during the last decennia and found dignified applications in many industries, such as water, energy, environment, healthcare, food, etc.

It has brought great values to improve our environment and human life. Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is such an example, which applies membrane technology to treat various wastewaters. MBR is experiencing rising demand currently owing to its high-quality solid separation and low carbon footprint. The global membrane bioreactor market is expected to reach USD 8.27 billion by 2025. Therefore, to keep up with the trend, it is important to have a sound understanding of MBR technology and membranes.

This 2-day course will provide participants with state-of-the-art membrane technologies and applications, with emphasis on microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), and MBR fundamentals. It will focus on the concepts of MBR technology, which includes its system components, pre-treatment, process design, membrane, and membrane module design, fouling and fouling control, operation, and maintenance. It also provides case studies for participants to apply and practice knowledge learned.
