About Course
It is essential for fire safety and risk management personnel to understand the principles of fires and explosions in order to determine how fires start and spread, and how explosions occur.
Basic knowledge of hazardous area classification is also vital to enabling proper selection and installation of equipment to be used safely in hazardous environments.
In this 2-day Process Safety workshop on Fire and Explosion Prevention, learners will acquire comprehensive knowledge on the causes and properties of explosions, with an emphasis on those involving gases.
The workshop will explore how mechanical and system failures lead to major accidents, provide insights into fire detection, alarm systems, and safety procedures, and explain the importance of classifying hazardous areas, materials, and temperature ranges. Additionally, learners will understand equipment protection strategies to enhance safety in hazardous environments.
