This 1-day training workshop will help the participants develop a better understanding of all things HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) in relation to Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Process Safety Management (PSM), and safety case studies, which are now gaining wide importance in many industries, especially in the oil & gas, chemical, and process industries.
A HAZOP study is a structured and systematic assessment of a complex planned or existing process or operation in order to identify and evaluate problems and issues that may represent hazards and risks to personnel, equipment, facilities, organisations, and the environment. Conducting a good HAZOP study is one of the pillars of process safety management (PSM), which is highly relevant for the safety case studies in many industries in Singapore, such as oil and gas, refineries, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and plastic production industries, etc.
This workshop will help participants understand and apply the HAZOP study methodology and terminology, its benefits and limitations, and the roles and responsibilities of HAZOP team members. The workshop will also explore HAZOP study techniques that should be applied to assess the hazards and risks of their processes and operation facilities. During the workshop, participants will have the hands-on opportunity to participate in a practical HAZOP review study based on an actual process in the industry to identify and mitigate hazards, causes, and consequences. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their HAZOP study experiences.
This course is suitable for the following relevant industries:
"The trainer is very experienced, and I have learnt much from other students as well."Lim NaEngineer, Temasek Polytechnic
"Knowledgeable trainer and comprehensive content."Lee Hwee SiangHead, Facilities Management, REC Solar Pte Ltd
