Course Overview
Develop skills and techniques to facilitate Workplace Learning at your workplace through scoping, designing and implementing an actual Workplace Learning project for SIT’s Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) students.
Learn and practice Workplace Learning mentoring and coaching skills through individual coaching sessions and real-life supervision of IWSP students.
* The Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) is a distinctive feature of SIT's degree programmes, which SIT students will undertake 6 to 12 months of paid employment within companies relevant to their degree programmes under the supervision of their Workplace Supervisor to develop specific professional competencies.
Who Should Attend
- This programme is targeted at companies who would like to build up or strengthen their Workplace Learning capability to enhance employees’ performance through better knowledge and skills transfer for upskilling and reskilling of their employees
What You Will Learn
The programme consists of 1.5-days of training, 2 coaching sessions, and a final assessment.
Phase 1: Training (1.5-Days)
Learners would be:
- Introduced to the Workplace Learning Framework and how to facilitate workplace learning using the GROW Coaching Model and skills and techniques for effective communication and feedback.
- Learning how Workplace Learning is aligned with the Company’s Core Values and Corporate Training & Development Plans, and apply Workplace Learning Assessment Principles, Methods and Tools to identify and scope a suitable Workplace Learning project with key deliverables and outcomes articulated, develop a Coaching and Implementation Plan through the Workplace Learning project and developing a Workplace Assessment Plan outlining methods and tools to be used.
Phase 2: Two-Month Practicum (2 Coaching Sessions)
Learners would be:
- Implementing Workplace Learning Project and applying workplace coaching skills and techniques.
- Two coaching sessions would be scheduled for Trainer to check-in with the learners’ progress, challenges encountered and proposed solutions, and review and evaluate Workplace Learning, coaching experience, and effectiveness of assessment plan.
Phase 3: Evaluation
- A one-on-one oral assessment session. The assessor will ask the candidate questions to provide candidate the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the outcomes of the course. At the end of the assessment, the assessor will provide the candidate with feedback on the understanding of key principles in coaching and mentoring and the overall presentation session. The outcome of the assessment will either be competent (C) or not-yet-competent (NYC).

Certificate and Assessment
A Certificate of Attainment (Non-credit bearing) will be issued to participants who:
- Attend at least 75% of the course
- Undertake and pass non-credit bearing assessment during the course
- Assessment: MCQ and Oral Questions
Benefit(s) of Certificate of Attainment:
Eligible for credit exemption from the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) WSQ Workplace Learning Facilitator (WLF) Programme – First Version (WLF v1) and the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance 2.0 (ACLP 2.0) programme
