BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering — CSM Pathway
A University Degree That Works Around Your Job, Not Against It.
Stack Specialist Certificates into a full honours degree from SIT, one micro-credential at a time, without stepping away from full-time work.
Programme Snapshot
BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
The real trade-off
Juggling a full-time job and a full-time degree was never a fair choice.
A traditional degree expects you to pause your career
Four years of study before you see a single credential. No room for a job, a family, or the energy either one takes. For most working adults, that's not a realistic ask.
The CSM Pathway lets you to build it, in pieces, as you go
Each micro-credential you complete earns its own Specialist Certificate in around three months, and stacks towards your degree. Immediate progress, long before graduation.
How the pathway works
Six components. One flexible structure. One degree at the end.
You don't need to finish the whole degree to earn something for your effort. Every micro-credential you complete is an SIT Specialist Certificate on its own, and it stacks towards the 240 credits you need for the BEng (Hons).
↓ Stacks to ↓
✓Micro-credentials take about one trimester each — combines online self-paced learning with in-person labs and assessments.
✓Every completed micro-credential earns a Specialist Certificate, recognised on its own, independent of whether you continue to the degree.
✓Recognition of Prior Learning applies — industry certifications and relevant experience can count towards credit or exemptions.
✓Polytechnic diploma holders in a related field may enter directly into Year 2 of the programme.
✓An optional specialisation in Semiconductor Manufacturing is available by completing two specific micro-credentials, and appears on your academic transcript.
Not ready to commit to the full degree?
Every micro-credential above also stands on its own. Register for just one, earn its Specialist Certificate, and decide later whether to stack it towards the BEng (Hons) — your credits stay valid for 6 years.
What you build competency in
Skills shaped by the sectors hiring for them.
Micro-credentials are developed with industry input, so what you learn maps to what employers in electrical and electronic engineering are actually looking for.

Common questions
What working professionals ask us most.
Will I be able to cope while working full-time?
Most learning is online and self-paced, built around one micro-credential at a time rather than a full course load. In-person time is limited to labs and assessments at SIT Punggol Campus, and a dedicated success coach works with you on a personalised learning plan throughout.
Do I have to commit to the full degree straight away?
No. Each micro-credential also stands on its own. You can register for a single one, earn its Specialist Certificate, and decide later whether to continue towards the degree — your credits stay valid for 6 years. See standalone options and their funding on our Engineering Micro-credentials page.
Do I need to take micro-credentials in a set order?
No. There's a recommended learning pathway, but you're free to sequence micro-credentials around your own schedule and priorities, as long as you meet the baseline competencies stated for each one.
What if I already hold industry certifications or relevant experience?
Recognition of Prior Learning is factored into your application, so relevant certifications or work experience can count towards credit or exemptions in the programme.
How long do I have to complete the degree?
Up to six years, at a pace that fits around full-time work. Learners who complete one micro-credential or elective each trimester can graduate in under four years.
Is this a real SIT degree, or a private certification?
It's a full Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) awarded by the Singapore Institute of Technology — an autonomous university. The CSM Pathway is simply a different, modular route to the same degree.
Applications for the January 2027 intake opens 15 August to 19 September 2026.
