About Course
Generative AI is moving from individual experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment, giving organisations the opportunity to build AI systems that are structured, governed, and fit for purpose. Frameworks such as the AI Factory concept and ISO/IEC 5338 now give leaders a practical way to design, validate, and scale enterprise AI responsibly.
This course is the third in a six-part Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer and Generative Artificial Intelligence Leadership executive development series, and can be taken independently of the other five.
Learners will learn how to design enterprise AI systems, knowledge-grounded applications, and agentic workflows. This course is structured around four core topics: the AI Factory concept, covering the Infrastructure, Production, and Application layers of enterprise AI capability; model choices including closed, open, RAG-based, multi-model, and agentic systems; ISO/IEC 5338 lifecycle thinking to scope, design, validate, deploy, monitor, and retire AI systems responsibly; and the technology and data dependencies — including data quality, access controls, system integration, monitoring, and collaboration across the CAIO, CTO, CIO, CDO, security, governance, and business functions — needed for responsible implementation. By the end of the course, participants will develop an Enterprise AI Project Blueprint and agentic workflow that is useful, trustworthy, scalable, and fit for purpose.
The course is delivered through classroom-facilitated training over two days, combining case studies, frameworks, and hands-on exercises using Straits Interactive's no-code GenAI platform, Capabara.
This course is developed in partnership with Straits Interactive, a leading edtech company committed to enabling organisations to thrive in a business landscape defined by Generative AI.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain enterprise AI differences from individual AI tool use, and why CAIOs must understand technology, data, workflows, lifecycle, and governance implications before scaling AI.
- Apply the AI Factory concept to describe the three layers of enterprise AI capability: Infrastructure Layer, Production Layer, and Application Layer.
- Apply ISO/IEC 5338 lifecycle thinking across key AI system lifecycle stages, including Inception, Design and Development, Verification and Validation, Deployment and Monitoring, and Disposal.
- Identify technology and data dependencies required for responsible enterprise AI implementation, including data quality, access controls, system integration, monitoring, logging, validation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop an Enterprise AI Project Blueprint and agentic workflow using the ISO/IEC 5338 lifecycle framework, reflecting business needs, data and knowledge sources, model choices, workflow requirements, oversight mechanisms, validation needs, and scaling considerations.
