Develop methods to optimise ship operations for better efficiency and lower emissions and to develop ship management capabilities to provide ship operations advisory.

Project Deliverables/Outcomes/Impact

The impact of the project will be significant in reducing operational costs and improving the overall efficiency of maritime transportation.

A system architecture diagram for a Multi-Objective Ship Operations Decision Support System. It illustrates how "Simulated Ship Data" (including power, propulsion, EHM models, navigation, route data, and weather) feeds into a decision system. This system balances "Conflicting Multi-Objectives" (such as energy efficiency versus speed or safety versus efficiency) to generate "Ship Advisory" outputs for fuel, power, propulsion, and route configurations.

Ship owners face the complex challenge of making operational decisions that balance economic efficiency, environmental sustainability, and safety.
