About Course

Quantum computing is advancing rapidly and will soon challenge the cryptographic systems that protect today's digital communications, creating an urgent need for organisations to future-proof their networks. As critical sectors such as finance, telecommunications, defence, energy, and government actively explore Quantum-Safe Networks (QSN) to secure their infrastructure, the demand is growing for professionals with practical, deployment-ready quantum-safe skills. Yet many organisations face a critical capability gap between awareness of the quantum threat and the applied expertise needed to design, implement, and manage QSN solutions in real-world environments

This course, co-developed and co-delivered by the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and SpeQtral, prepares learners to bridge that gap by building both conceptual foundations and strong applied competencies in quantum-safe network design and deployment. Participants deepen their understanding of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and hybrid QKD-PQC applications, while developing the practical skills required to integrate quantum-safe solutions into existing classical network infrastructure.

Through a structured, hands-on approach, learners are guided across the full lifecycle of Quantum-Safe Network (QSN) implementation, from threat assessment and technology selection to network design, configuration, and real-world scenario testing. By working with actual QKD hardware and simulators, participants gain direct experience building and validating QSN architectures against operational challenges such as fibre cuts and routing performance.

Integrating applied learning with industry-aligned implementation practices, the course equips IT and cybersecurity professionals, network engineers, technical managers, and decision-makers with the expertise required to contribute directly to quantum-secure transformation within their organisations and lead adoption across sectors where secure communications are mission-critical.

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable for:

IT and cybersecurity professionals seeking to build applied expertise in quantum-safe network technologies and deployment.
Network engineers and systems architects looking to expand their skills into quantum-safe infrastructure design and integration.
Technical managers and decision-makers who need to evaluate, plan, and lead Quantum-Safe Network adoption within their organisations.
Job functions including network engineers, cybersecurity analysts, IT architects, infrastructure managers, and technology strategists across finance, telecommunications, defence, energy, and government that are actively exploring or planning Quantum-Safe Network adoption.
Minimum Entry Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in Information Security, Software Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
Required Softwares
  • Python programming software
  • Linux OS

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate the quantum threat landscape and assess the need for Quantum-Safe Network solutions within an organisational context, recommending suitable QSN approaches aligned to operational requirements.
  • Design and set up a trial Quantum-Safe Network using Post-Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Key Distribution, hybrid QKD-PQC architectures, and appropriate network topologies.
  • Apply and interpret relevant QSN standards and frameworks to ensure correct, secure, and compliant implementation of quantum-safe solutions within existing network infrastructure.
