About Course

AI agents can now plan tasks, call tools, interact with systems and carry work through multi-step processes with limited human intervention. This changes how operational work is designed, staffed and governed. Organisations are moving beyond automating individual tasks to designing hybrid workflows in which people and AI agents share responsibility for execution, creating new requirements for workflow design, exception handling, capacity planning and performance governance.

This course addresses that gap for operations leaders, process owners, business transformation teams and workforce planners who are redesigning processes around agentic AI. It assumes no coding, AI engineering or data science background.

Over two days, learners work through how to decompose operational workflows, allocate tasks between humans and AI agents, define escalation and exception pathways, and plan capacity in environments where agents perform work alongside people. They examine how traditional operating models need to change as AI agents take on more autonomous roles, and how KPIs and governance mechanisms can be redesigned to maintain accountable performance.

The course opens with a practical grounding in how agentic systems operate within business processes, so that operational decisions rest on an accurate understanding of the technology. It closes with an applied operating-model redesign workshop in which learners redesign a selected operational process and develop a practical concept that can support workplace discussion, pilot planning or a broader transformation roadmap.

Delivery is classroom-based, built around scenario discussion, worked examples and a hands-on operating-model redesign workshop.

  • Identify where human judgement and oversight remain non-negotiable within agent-enabled workflows

  • Design human-agent collaboration models appropriate to different operational risk levels

  • Build workforce plans that treat agent capacity as a resourced and budgeted asset

  • Define fleet ownership, accountability and organisational responsibilities for agentic operations

  • Design exception-handling pathways and escalation thresholds for agent-enabled processes

  • Define operational KPIs for agentic processes including exception-handling and performance metrics
