Operational Excellence in Engineering

Chun Yee specialises in mechatronics and microfluidics. He teaches relevant modules, including Industrial Automation, Robotics, Fluid Mechanics & Six Sigma in SIT-NU Mechanical Design & Manufacturing Engineering (MDME) Joint Degree Programme. He was previously a Research Fellow at the Nanyang Technological University, where he is the one of the co-inventors of a magnetic nanochain-integrated microfluidic biochip for early detection of cancer biomarkers. He holds a Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical & Production Engineering with Mechatronics Specialization) and Doctor of Philosophy from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Dr. Mustafa is an Associate Professor in the Engineering Cluster with Singapore Institute of Technology who specializes in Robotics and Lean Manufacturing. He is also the Deputy Director of SIT’s Applied Research Office, which provides overall strategic research direction as well as overseeing research governance and grant administration. He was previously a Research Scientist at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology A*STAR, leading a team in industrial robotics initiatives for productivity enhancement in the local manufacturing sector. In addition to actively teaching and developing robotics curriculum for both undergraduate and adult learners, he provides consultancy services and actively leads applied research projects to develop robotic automation solutions in various industry sectors such as manufacturing and built environment. He holds a Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical & Production Engineering with Mechatronics Specialization) and Doctor of Philosophy (Robotics) from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Dr. Yee is an Associate Professor of Engineering at SIT and was its Vice President (External Relations). He was Vice President of ST Engineering prior to joining SIT. He is conversant with the planning and implementation of manufacturing processes and technologies at the shopfloor, facility and enterprise levels. He conducts the Official SIRI Assessment for companies.

Joshua Chan started his career in the semiconductor industry in the areas of industrial engineering. His achievement was the setup of Singapore’s first CCD manufacturing line and clean room capability for CCD manufacturing. His training and expertise is in integrating various business process reengineering solutions and using statistical tool for process improvement in the manufacturing sector. He received both Lean and Six Sigma training which he holds a Black Belt in Six Sigma initiatives. He has also worked in other industries varying from healthcare, plastic and applied chemical industry. His experience include designing, drafting and process optimization of plastic pneumatic conveying systems. He also involved in various auditing exercises and is certified to perform audits for ISO 9001, ISO/TS19649 and ISO14001/OHSAS 18001. His working experience is diversified; working in American, British, German, Japanese and French MNCs and local SMEs as well. He joined SIT in SIT as a Senior Professional Officer and is tasked in the lab practical instruction of various thermodynamics and unit operations experiments supporting SIT Pharmaceutical Engineering program and TUM Chemical Engineering program. Besides conducting lab classes, he is involved in various student learning initiatives as well as mentoring students for industrial projects in different areas of chemical and mechanical engineering.

Dr Lin is the Programme Leader of BSc in Digital Supply Chain at the Singapore Institute of Technology. He obtained his PhD in Engineering and MBA from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore in 2000 and 2003 respectively. Dr Lin is also a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt by American Society of Quality since 2007. Dr Lin teaches relevant modules, including supply chain management, demand and inventory planning, warehouse and transportation systems, systems modelling and simulation, and systems and project management in both the SIT Digital Supply Chain (DSC) programme and SIT-DigiPen Mechatronics Systems (METS) Joint Degree Programme. His research interests are in the areas of digital supply chain management, cyber-physical digital supply chain twin, machine learning, simulation and optimizsation for digital supply chains.
