This workshop focuses on the knowledge and skills supporting occupational therapy practice for cognitive-perceptual issues seen in persons with a range of neurological and psychiatric conditions.

It is also a continuation of the two-day inter-professional primer on cognitive rehabilitation.

The workshop aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills in occupational therapy centric cognitive-perceptual assessments, problem identification, goal setting, and intervention plans.

Additionally providing you with the necessary knowledge and skills in various areas related to cognitive and perceptual dysfunctions. These areas include occupation-focused models and approaches, assessments for cognitive and perceptual problems, problem identification and goal setting, and intervention strategies and plans.

Who Should Attend

  • Occupational therapists that are working or will work with adults with cognitive perceptual problems
Prerequisites

What You Will Learn

  • To apply treatment models and approaches to cases involving cognitive and/or perceptual issues
  • To administer cognitive-perceptual assessments and interpret results
  • To use metacognitive strategy and other evidence-based approaches in occupational therapy interventions across various clinical settings
  • To apply occupational therapy treatment approaches to executive dysfunction, memory, spatial neglect, apraxia and visual-perceptual deficits
