About Course

This course equips learners with the knowledge and skills to evaluate fire protection system performance through real-world case studies, linking system effectiveness to building-specific fire risks and operational requirements.

With an emphasis on the selection of appropriate protection strategies for various building types in compliance with prevailing codes and standards, learners will gain a comprehensive understanding of the design principles, functional capabilities, and system integration aspects of active fire protection systems, ensuring effective and reliable fire safety solutions.

This course is part of the Graduate Certificate in Fire Engineering Practice, and is developed in collaboration with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to raise professionalism in fire safety engineering within the built environment.
