About Course
The Marine and Offshore (M&O) sector is undergoing a significant transformation driven by the global energy transition, tightening decarbonisation targets, and the rapid adoption of digital technologies. As industries respond to International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations, carbon markets, and increasing demands for operational efficiency, there is a growing need for professionals who can integrate sustainability, engineering, and smart monitoring systems into modern offshore operations.
This two-day course equips learners with the knowledge and practical tools to support low-carbon, climate-resilient, and digitally enabled marine and offshore systems. Designed for engineers and industry professionals, it provides a comprehensive understanding of how decarbonisation, environmental considerations, and advanced digital technologies intersect in real-world applications.
The course covers key areas including energy transition and decarbonisation of the M&O sector, regulatory frameworks and IMO compliance, carbon markets and sustainable finance, and marine biodiversity considerations. Learners will explore integrated energy systems, including renewable and alternative fuels, alongside the growing role of digital technologies in enhancing safety and efficiency.
Through hands-on sessions, participants will develop practical skills in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), digital simulation, and the use of localised climate data to support data-driven Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) design. The learning experience culminates in an interactive case study, where learners will design a sustainable offshore energy hub and propose a conceptual remote monitoring and inspection strategy that enhances safety, compliance, and operational performance.
By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with integrated capabilities to support decarbonisation, digital transformation, and resilient engineering practices across the marine and offshore sector.
