This course is designed to provide an overview of pressure relief system design and requirements.

Pressure vessels and other equipment require relief devices to provide overpressure protection to prevent conditions that may cause serious injuries to personnel, costly mechanical damage and environmental releases.

The course provides specific detailed guidelines for evaluating a relief system, including determining applicability of overpressure scenarios, required relief rates, and relief device capacity.

The key principles from this course provide practical knowledge of the relief system requirements of process safety management.

Who Should Attend

  • Managers, engineers, operators, safety advisors and risk management practitioners

What You Will Learn

  • How to select and size appropriate relief devices
  • How to test, inspect and repair relief devices, and establish an inspection timetable
  • Understand the format, organisational structure and use of API 520/521 standards
  • How to comply with OSHA and RAGAGEP policies
