Web-based game to enhance learning of aviation legislation

Grant Name
SIT Advancement for Learning and Teaching (SALT)

Abstract

Passing the Aviation Legislation examination by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is part of the requirement for SIT Aircraft Systems Engineering (ASE) undergraduates to attain their Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) qualification. This module ASE3101 Aviation Legislation is taught in SIT as part of the ASE programme, which meets the requirements of Singapore Airworthiness Requirements (SAR) part 147 under the SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) Approved Training Organization quality framework. The Aviation Legislation examination consists of multiple-choice questions and each student is required to attain a 75% passing mark.

Through the use of the SALT grant, we propose to develop a web-based game for ASE3101 to help students achieve their learning goals of passing the SIAEC Certificate of Recognition and CAAS Aviation Legislation exams, in fulfilment of the LAE qualification.
