Pedagogical innovation to promote critical thinking in SIT's Allied Health degree programmes

Grant Name
SIT Advancement for Learning and Teaching (SALT)

Abstract

The team aims to embed critical thinking skills into the curriculum that SIT's allied health undergraduates will undergo. To achieve this, the team will be carrying out a study to compare a new case-based learning methodology with the more established problem-based learning approach.

The study will be carried out across three modules – one each from the Diagnostic Radiography, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy programmes. This is a collaboration between SIT and Monash University in the area of applied learning, and the team will be working directly with the creator of the new case-based learning methodology.
