Enhancing Students’ Work Performance Skills Using Technology and Peer Teaching

Grant Name
Applied Learning and Innovation Grant (ALIGN)

Abstract

The Industry Attachment is a mandatory module for the Hospitality Business students to be enrolled in if they were equipped with a non-hospitality related diploma, or as a direct intake from Junior Colleges.  Nonetheless, they would need to successfully pass this module as it is a prerequisite requirement for Integrated Work Study Program (IWSP) in the later part of their SIT journey. Due to the fact that these students may not have prior experience in the industry, it may be challenging for them to cope with the industry partner’s expectations or industry standards immediately when they step foot into the working world. Therefore, this project aims to provide two things:

(I) To provide a better understanding and expectation of what this industry is all about, so as to better prepared these undergraduates as they step foot into the working world.

(II) To enable these undergraduates to identify the three performance skills better so that they can see the relevant context and be able to align with the industry partner’s expectation.
