EDscape, an engaging formative assessment to enhance student learning

This project aims to develop an innovative game (EDscape) to improve students’ understanding of subject concepts and to develop students’ resilience in solving non-routine problems. This interactive game can be potentially applied as an alternative form of continuous assessment, where students’ learning and competency in applying classroom knowledge to stimulated real-world situations are assessed.
The time-limited condition imposed within the EDscape examines students’ capability to perform under stressful situations. The EDscape can also function as an effective tool for facilitators to review their teaching methodology and provide a hint to the respective topics that requires further reinforcing.
