dEMboards: demonstrators and e-learning aide for electromagnetic effects in RF circuits

Grant Name
SIT Advancement for Learning and Teaching (SALT)

Abstract

The fundamental challenge in teaching Radio Frequency (RF) circuits to undergraduate students lies in helping students understand the connection between the physically observed phenomenon with the physical theory behind it. Through this grant, we seek to develop a set of RF printed circuit boards (PCBs) to demonstrate various high frequency effects and related electromagnetic phenomena. Such demonstrators, referred to as dEMboards, will enable the students to observe and develop better understanding of RF effects, which would take students considerable effort and time to comprehend when it is taught merely by covering the theoretical aspects using textbooks.
