This module has an updated learning pathway that can now be stacked towards the Graduate Certificate in Adult and Geriatric Rehabilitation (GCert AGR). The GCert AGR is also stackable towards SIT’s Master of Health Sciences

Designed to develop advanced knowledge and competencies in elder care rehabilitation, this module utilises the International Classification of Disability as a foundational framework. It offers insights into rehabilitation approaches for a range of medical, post-surgical, and biopsychosocial conditions commonly encountered in older patients.

Rehabilitation strategies highlight the essential role of interprofessional collaboration, especially in the context of geriatric rehabilitation, where it is critically needed for achieving optimal outcomes.

The module will expose learners to various learning activities and assessment strategies tailored to meet the dynamic demands of the workplace, fostering enhanced service delivery and personal upskilling. These activities include keynote lecture, seminar series, workshops, tutorials, and more.

Additionally, learners will be able to demonstrate their acquired knowledge through an assessment that includes two written assignments and an oral presentation. The assessment will emphasise using technology to enhance care, a case study, and implementing service improvements.
