Valerio Isoni
Profile
Biography
I formally trained as a synthetic organic chemist at the University of Southampton, where I obtained a PhD.
The interest for large scale and industrial applications of green chemistry met my personal interest to move to Singapore in 2013, when I joined A*STAR as a scientist.
Over the years I have been working with both chemists and chemical engineers where both disciplines meet at the interface between academia and industry in areas such as process development & scale up, sustainability, green chemistry, process intensification, continuous processing.
I have a keen interest in testing promising sustainable technologies in the chemical space under simulated industrial conditions for proof-of-concept studies, demonstrations, but also in applied research on real industrial problems. I initiated, managed, and executed tens of research projects of varying complexity and size with both SMEs and MNCs in Singapore from Pharma and specialty chemicals industries.
Process intensification, water-based chemistry, mechanochemistry, continuous/flow chemistry, green chemistry methodologies are just some of the research topics I have been working on over the years and continue to be of interest.
