Biography
Dr Pear is an Associate Professor in Accountancy program, Business, Communication and Design Cluster at Singapore Institute of Technology. Pear received her PhD in Finance from Monash University and scholarship from Australian Prudential Regulation Authority and Reserve Bank of Australia. Her research interests include credit risk management, banking, financial stability and regulation, and FinTech. Dr Pear has been the Principle Investigator of several research projects to provide innovative solutions to industry partners. Dr Pear has been quoted and interviewed by media including Business Times, Straits times, Money FM and Channel News Asia's radio pertaining finance and credit risk. She also published in industry relevant and international journals including the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, the Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics, Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) journal. In education, Dr Pear focuses on integrating applied research into the applied educational paradigm by imparting industry based knowledge, expertise to cross-disciplinary students at SIT through curricula, capstone, integrative team project and thesis.
