Before I joined SIT, I was running my consultation firm in the area of Internet of Things. I have helped companies and schools to develop "Smart Washing Machine", "Real-time vehicle tracking solution", "Smart Equipment Management System" and "BLE-based sensory controller". During these times, I realised that the awareness level of IoT related knowledge is quite low and thus, I thought it will be better to share more with our future generations so that they can bring this knowledge into their future careers.

Embedded Solutions for Internet of Things (IoT)
With emerging cloud technologies and services, remote sensing and control become easier and cheaper. On top of that, more people are carrying smart phones as compared to carrying laptops. Thus, mobile app development & solutions become inevitable for IoT implementations. BUT, without embedded systems to collect sensor data and control outputs, the IoT solution is incomplete.

Thermal Management & Control
Contrary to conventional refrigeration method of using mechanical compressor and refrigerants, there exist an equivalent heat pump which has no mechanical parts except semiconductors materials. This type of heat pumps is commonly known as solid-state heat pump or Thermal Electric Cooler (TEC). They make use of peltier effects to serve as a thermal pump, just like the way a D.C. motor can be used as a generation.
This solid state heat pump is reconfigurable and the challenge is in the design of the heat exchanger interface. The working temperature range is between -40 degC and 200 degC. If you have any thermal issue, please feel free to contact me.
