The Food, Chemical and Biotechnology cluster offers an opportunity for a promising candidate to complete the Doctor of Engineering (DEng) degree in partnership with Wilmar International Limited.

The main goal of this research is to investigate the behaviour of plant protein-based meat analogues to aid in product design and formulation. The student will work with extrusion-cooked plant proteins to understand and model the relationships between the material structure, rheological properties, and product behaviours including texture.

Candidates should have:

  • strong communication skills;
  • a bachelor's degree in chemical/mechanical engineering, food technology, or a related field of quantitative science;
  • experience with material formulation and characterization, mathematical modelling, and fluid dynamics simulation preferably.

The selected candidate will go through the standard interview process and be recruited as an employee of Wilmar international. This position is open to Singapore citizens and permanent residents.
