SkillsCraft

Community Innovation Makerspace

As a university of applied learning, Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is working closely with the Punggol Grassroots to establish a Community Innovation Makerspace.

At the Community Innovation Makerspace, SkillsCraft will showcase SIT’s applied learning pedagogy by bringing the ‘learning-by-doing’ experience to residents. Residents can make use of the resources and tools available to build and design prototypes, work with the community, turn their ideas into reality, and solve issues within their homes and living environment.

About SkillsCraft

We provide a dedicated working space where residents can come together to tinker, learn, share, and build projects together.

Users of the Makerspace in SkillsCraft are known as "Makers". Makers can use our facilities and equipment to build and design prototypes. Our coaches will show you how to safely use the equipment, and upon successfully passing the Safety Workshop, you can drop by whenever you want to tinker with your projects.

Prototype, develop, fix, mend, or experiment and take your ideas further. If you have ideas, our SkillsCraft Makers workshops will empower you with the capabilities in 3D printing, electronic, plastic, and fabric works. Whether it is to prototype an idea, DIY a project with the tools you do not have at home, or even to pursue your passion and hobbies, come and experience what our machinery and tools can do for you.
