Global Experience

In response to COVID-19 developments, the Ministry of Education (MOE) together with the Institutes of Higher Learning (including SIT) have suspended all official overseas placements until end-July 2020.

SIT has suspended our student mobility programmes including:
  • Overseas Exposure Programme (OEP)
  • Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP)
  • Overseas Integrated Work Study Programme (OIWSP)
  • International Internship Programme (IIP)
  • Student Exchange Programme (SEP)

Please review our Global Experience – COVID-19 FAQ for more information.

Overseas Integrated Work Study Programme (OIWSP)

The Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) is a distinctive applied learning feature of SIT, allowing our work-ready undergraduates to be immersed in a real-life work environment for an extended period of 8 to 12 months.  The Overseas Integrated Work Study Programme (OIWSP) is the overseas equivalent of IWSP.  Under the national ambits outlined in the Committee on the Future Economy (CFE) strategies, students are encouraged to acquire global insight and immerse themselves in the regional industries.

SIT works with global and regional partners to deploy our students for OIWSP.  If your organization is interested to consider a work-ready SIT intern for your overseas location, please contact our Global Experience Division at

For more information, please download the OIWSP Brochure here.

International Internship Programme (IIP)

International Internship Programme (IIP) is an optional mobility programme aiming to our year-one students’ international experience through 2 to 4 months of overseas internship stint. For more information, please visit here.

Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP)

The Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP) is compulsory for all students pursuing Joint or OU Undergraduate Programmes. These programmes are designed to provide greater learning experiences and include lectures, hands-on project work, workshops and industry visits. Students will get to interact with their university professors and mentors while experiencing life abroad with their fellow overseas counterparts. Participation in OIP will be reflected in students' Record of Achievement (ROA).
