Writing The Script for Microlearning Modules

Employees are increasingly digitally literate. They are also time-strapped to upskill. Microlearning could plug this gap when used for pre-work instruction, follow-up training, just-in-time support, and/or performance support. Microlearning modules are bite-sized, scalable, provides learner control over their learning and a means for employers to track employees' learning and performance. This course aims to help department mentors write scripts for microlearning with specific skill gaps in mind.

Critical Thinking for the 21st Century Workplace

Critical thinking has been identified as an essential competency for the 21st century workplace. It also fosters teamwork and increases productivity. Key critical thinking skills to have in the workplace include perspective-taking, analysis, evaluation, inference, and synthesis leading to effective communication and problem-solving.
This course is designed to meet the following learning outcomes:

  • Consider possibilities and perspectives when examining issues in a collaborative environment.
  • Distinguish between fact, opinion, and acknowledge value judgments.
  • Identify, analyse, evaluate, and synthesise information/ideas (obtained from a variety of media and other sources).

Managing Workplace Relationships

In today’s digital age, it is increasingly habitual for many to spend their daily life plugged into digital devices. The habit encourages oblivion and affects our communication skills. Ineffective communication and interpersonal interactions with our co-workers could be detrimental in the workplace. This workshop aims to reduce friction between individuals working in teams, and to heighten self-awareness and relationship-management skills translating to higher work productivity.

Participants in this two-day workshop will be able to critically reflect on the challenges they face as a communicator in the workplace, identify ways to better manage emotions while engaged in online and face-to-face interactions, and apply various communication frameworks to facilitate a more effective personal interactions in the workplace.

This two-day workshop shows you how to craft written messages appropriate to the situation, audience, and purpose. You will apply knowledge of good writing to different types of writing required in the workplace, such as email, meeting minutes, and letters.
