Adult Learners

Adult Learners

In line with SIT’s holistic and aptitude-based approach in assessing applicants for admission, the University duly takes into consideration work experience of relevance and of significant duration. As such, SIT will admit adult learners alongside fresh school leavers to our undergraduate programmes, and not separately.

Aspiring adult learners who do not meet SIT’s minimum academic threshold marginally but have particularly impressive work experience and records may be considered fairly under SIT’s aptitude-based admissions process. This allows a ‘second chance’ for candidates who may not have excelled in the polytechnic, junior college or other educational institution, but have since done very well in real-work situations.

Professional Conversion Programmes (PCP)

The Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) helps and supports mid-career Singaporeans in acquiring relevant training to be Diagnostic Radiographers, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. PCP applicants must apply to both SIT as well as WSG during the application period in order to be considered.

Skillsfuture Work-Study Degree Programme (WSDP)

SIT also offers an apprenticeship degree scheme known as the Skillsfuture Work-Study Degree Programme (WSDP) for selected programmes. This scheme caters to in-employment upgraders (i.e. employees of companies that are participating in the WSDP scheme with SIT) and to those who are keen to alternate between working and studying either on a term-in/term-out mode, or a work-day/study-day mode.
