John Abraham Rapid Physiocare Scholarship

The John Abraham Rapid Physiocare Scholarship was established to support deserving students pursuing the Honours Degree in Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy programme at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduates pursuing the Honours Degree in Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy programme jointly offered by SIT and TCD.
  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • Have achieved good academic results as may be determined by the Institute.
  • Preference will be given to students with a monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of $1,000 or less.
  • Preference will be given to students who have made significant contributions beyond academic studies to the Institute or the community.

Tenure and Benefits of Scholarship

  • Each Scholarship, valued at $7,500, is applicable for one (1) academic year.
  • The Scholarship shall be used for the recipients' educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, or expenses related to approved regional study trips or educational activities organised by the Institute.
  • Recipients of this Scholarship may continue to receive this scholarship in a subsequent year of study, provided that good academic results are maintained, and with the recommendation of the Institute and the selection by the Selection Committee.
  • Recipients may accept other scholarships concurrently. 

About the Donor

The Scholarship has been made possible with a gift from Rapid Physiocare Pte Ltd. Mr John Abraham, who is Managing Director and also a Senior Principal Physiotherapist there, wishes to support and inspire passionate physiotherapy students to provide the best physiotherapy care to their patients and pay it forward in the future. John and his team at Rapid Physiocare have a passion for providing the best physiotherapy care for every patient, every time; they also aim to provide the best treatment through new methods and research. Prior to joining Rapid Physiocare, John worked as the Head of Rehab services at a private hospital and was also instrumental in setting up and establishing the rehabilitation department in primary healthcare. In addition to his clinical work, John is actively involved in philanthropic and public health efforts.

How To Apply

Applications for Public Bursaries, Donated Bursaries & Scholarships will commence in July 2022. Do keep a look out for more information which will be sent to your SIT e-mail address.

Matriculated students may access the online application form via the SIT Student Intranet - IN4SIT.

Applicants will need to complete and submit the online application form after uploading all required supporting documents through the application portal by the given deadline. Scholarship applicants are expected to upload an endorsed Letter of Recommendation and their SIT Record of Achievement (where applicable).
