Academic Policies

The SIT Academic Policies apply to undergraduate, postgraduate, and other credit-bearing programmes offered by SIT and those jointly offered by SIT with Overseas University (OU) partners. These policies are in accordance to the university’s education philosophy to produce work-ready graduates imbued with the SIT DNA.

Academic Structure and Organisation

To deliver these industry-relevant programmes effectively, faculty in SIT are clustered under domains of technical expertise, each helmed by a Cluster Director, to foster a sense of belonging as well as to create a critical mass for sharing and enhancement of knowledge and capabilities. Meanwhile, functions such as continuing education, communication skills, industry projects, applied learning pedagogy, centralised resources and faculty development are delivered seamlessly across SIT.

Professional Officers (POs) are another group of academic staff that plays a complementary yet critical role in the delivery of SIT’s applied learning pedagogy. POs assist in guiding students in the laboratory environment and playing a coach/mentor role for students on industrial attachment or projects.
