LO CHEE FEI & NG CHOY WAH BURSARY

The Lo Chee Fei & Ng Choy Wah Bursary was established to support financially disadvantaged and deserving undergraduates pursuing a full-time degree programme at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

One (1) bursary will be awarded for AY2016/17.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Students pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree programme at SIT
  • Singapore Citizens
  • Household Per Capita Income (PCI) less than or equal to S$850
  • Good character record
  • Good performance at selection interview

Tenure and Benefits of the Bursary:

  • Each bursary is valued at S$7,500 and is tenable for one Academic Year.
  • The bursary will be used to fund the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, expenses for the OIP, and fees for other educational activities conducted by SIT.
  • Recipient of the bursary may apply again for the next Academic Year after the Bursary has expired, subject to meeting the selection criteria
  • Recipient of this bursary may hold another bursary concurrently.
  • No bond is required of the recipient.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S FUND (IWF) EDUCATION GRANT

The IWF Education Grant seeks to support young and talented ladies pursuing a full-time degree programme at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

 

Grants will be awarded for Academic Year 2016/17.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • 1st, 2nd or 3rd-year female students pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree programme at Singapore Institute of Technology.
  • Singapore Citizens between the ages of 17 to 35 years from 1st Jan 2016.
  • Household Per Capita Income (PCI) less than S$1,900 per month.
  • Has achieved good academic results.
  • Good track record in CCAs and demonstrates a high degree of social awareness.

 

Tenure and Benefits of the Grant:

  • Each grant is valued at S$3,000 and is tenable for one Academic Year.
  • The bursary will be used to fund the recipient’s educational expenses, including tuition fees and personal day-to-day expenses. 
  • Recipient of this education grant may hold another bursary concurrently. 
  • No bond is required of the recipient.

 

Closing Date: All submissions must reach SIT Admissions by 29th April 2016 (Friday).

 

Application Process:

Applicants are required to print and complete the application form, submit the signed application form and required essay to the SIT Admissions Division for assessment. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview before nominations are made on behalf of SIT to IWF.

BDO LLP STUDY GRANT

The BDO LLP Study Grant was established to support academically talented Accountancy undergraduates at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

 

Two (2) grants will be awarded for Academic Year 2016.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Students pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Accountancy with Honours offered at SIT
  • Singapore Citizens
  • Household Per Capita Income (PCI) less than or equal to S$850
  • Has achieved good academic results
  • Has good character
  • Good performance at selection interview

 

Tenure and Benefits of the Bursary:

  • Each bursary is valued at S$5,000 and is tenable for one Academic Year.
  • The bursary will be used to fund the recipient’s educational expenses
  • Recipient of this grant may hold another bursary or grant concurrently.
  • No bond is required of the recipient.

Miscellaneous Fees

In addition to the tuition fees, students are required to pay miscellaneous fees. These annual recurring fees help to meet the costs of providing amenities, copyright, insurance, library, sports, IT, laboratory/studio facilities as well as academic-related services, and are payable at the beginning of each academic year.

Students are liable to pay Miscellaneous Fees even if they:
 
a. decide to withdraw, or apply for leave of absence from SIT after matriculation or registration, but prior to commencement of the semester/trimester; OR
b. have their candidature terminated by SIT.

Yeakin Study Grant

The Yeakin Study Grant was established to support talented but financially disadvantaged undergraduates pursuing a full-time degree programme at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). 

 One (1) bursary will be awarded for Academic Year 2016.

 Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Students enrolled in either of the following full-time undergraduate degree programmes at Singapore Institute of Technology:
    • Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering by Newcastle University;
    • Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Mechanical Design Engineering by University of Glasgow; or
    • Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Mechatronics by University of Glasgow.
  • Singapore Citizens
  • Achieved good academic results
  • Household Per Capita Income (PCI) less than or equal to S$850

 

Tenure and Benefits of the Bursary:

  • Each bursary is valued at S$5,000 and is tenable for one Academic Year
  • The bursary will be used to fund the recipient’s tuition fees, course materials and other education-related expenses
  • Recipient of this grant may hold other grants concurrently to fund other educational expenses such as but not limited to OIP, etc
