Parking
Guests may park their vehicles at Car Park A, B or C on campus. The parking lots are complimentary and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Alternatively, guests may park at nearby public carparks. As parking facilities are limited, graduates and guests are strongly advised to come by public transport.

Graduates

  • Before Arrival
    • Things to bring along – You are required to bring your Academic Dress, Graduate Admission Card and SIT Matriculation Card.
    • Dress Code – For men: Collared long-sleeved shirt, long trousers and a tie, covered shoes with socks. For women: Shirt/blouse with a skirt/long trousers, or a dress, appropriate shoes of a comfortable height
    • Graduation Booklet – In support of environmental sustainability, the Graduation Booklet will be in an electronic format, which will be made available only during the week of the ceremony.     • Accessibility Requirements – Graduates with accessibility requirements (e.g. wheelchair-bound or visual impairment) can write to the Registrar’s Office or indicate the type of assistance required under Remarks during your online attendance registration. Designated routes to event venue and special seating sections can be arranged.
  • Upon Arrival
    • Registration (attendance on event day) – You are required to present your Graduate Admission Card and SIT Matriculation Card at the registration counters upon arrival. Registration at the counters opens from 1.00pm to 2.00pm (TCD) / 7.45am to 8.45am (ACC/HB). Graduates who do not register on event day will not be seated.
    • Graduate Robing – You have to put on your Academic Dress at the designated robing area before entering the auditorium.
    • Seating Information – Your allocated seat will be printed on your Graduate Admission Card. You are not allowed to change seats with your fellow graduates as names will be read according to a numbered sequence.
    • Seating Time – All graduates must be seated by 2.15pm (TCD) / 8.50am (ACC/HB) sharp.
  • During the Ceremony
    • Order of Proceedings – The order of proceedings can be found in the Graduate Booklet TCD 19 Oct 2017 and ACC & HB 20 Oct 2017.
    • Ceremony Etiquette and Presentation on Stage – Graduates are to accord due respect when being presented on stage. You may refer to the Graduates’ Guide on the Student Portal for more information.
  • End of Ceremony
    • Certificate and Transcript – You may collect your certificate and academic transcript from the registration counters after the ceremony.
    • Refreshments – Light refreshments will be provided for graduates and guests immediately after the ceremony.

Guests

    • Things to bring along – Guests are required to bring their Guest Invitation Cards for admission.
    • Dress Code – The dress code for the ceremony is ‘office attire’.

    • Accessibility Requirements – Guests with mobility challenges will be guided to designated seating sections.
  • Upon arrival
    • Seating Information – Each Guest Invitation Card admits one person. Guests without Guest Invitation Card will not be allowed entry into the auditorium. Guests are advised to ensure all members are present before entering the auditorium as no reservation of seats is allowed. To preserve the decorum and formality of the ceremony, children below the age of six will not be admitted. Guests with children below six years of age may watch the live webcast of the ceremony outside the auditorium. 
    • Seating time – Guests must be seated by the timing stated on the Guest Invitation Card. Doors will be closed after the ceremony has officially started and latecomers will not be allowed to enter the auditorium.
  • During the ceremony
    • Order of Proceedings – The order of proceedings can be found in the Graduate Booklet TCD 19 Oct 2017 and ACC & HB 20 Oct 2017.
    • Ceremony Etiquette – Guests are requested to set all electronic devices to silent mode during the ceremony. Guests are to remain seated throughout the ceremony. Guests are advised not to move around to take photographs so as not to interrupt the flow of graduates going on stage and returning to their seats. Official photographers have been assigned to take close-up stage photographs of graduates; orders for these photographs can be placed by graduates.
  • End of ceremony
    • Refreshments – After the ceremony, guests are to wait for the Academic Procession to take their leave before proceeding for refreshments together with the graduates.
