Deputy President (Administration) & Chief Financial Officer
Mr Chan Wing Leong is the Deputy President (Administration) and Chief Financial Officer of Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). In that capacity, Mr Chan is responsible for the resourcing and service support needs of SIT covering the functions of finance, investments, legal, real estate, information technology, human resources and libraries.
Mr Chan graduated with first class honours in Economics at the National University of Singapore in 1981. He was a Local Merit Scholarship holder appointed to the Administrative Service after graduation where he was posted to the Ministry for Trade and Industry. He subsequently worked in other government related organisations such as EDB and in MINDEF companies.
Mr Chan was an investment banker from 1988 to 1992 with J Henry Schroder Wagg as a Regional Representative in Singapore as well as Director of Schroders Hong Kong. He subsequently was Managing Director at Bankers Trust Hong Kong until 1995. In both Schroders and Bankers Trust, Mr Chan was responsible for infrastructure and project financing, and asset securitisation in Asia ex-Japan. He returned to Singapore in 1995 to join Sembcorp Ltd, where he held various positions as Chief Financial Officer, President of New Businesses, and was also Chairman of Pacific Internet and Delifrance until 2002 when he was appointed Executive Chairman of Easycall Ltd.
Mr Chan currently sits on private and public listed company boards, and on the boards of charities or institutions of public character, in addition to his appointment at SIT.
