  • What is the minimum GPA required for a local polytechnic diploma holder to get into SIT?

    SIT adopts a holistic approach in assessing applicants for admission by considering the following criteria:

    • Diploma from one of the 5 local polytechnics

    • Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level results (where applicable)

    • Work experience/Internships

    • Interview performance

  • Can polytechnic students apply for SIT degree programmes using the results of the first 5 semesters of the diplomas programmes they are currently pursuing?

    Yes, final semester polytechnic students can apply for SIT degree programmes using the results of their first 5 semesters of their diploma programmes; however, they are required to submit the results of their final semester of study upon receiving them to complete their application.This is applicable for the admission exercise in February each year.

    For the September admission exercise, only polytechnic applicants who have graduated from their diplomas are eligible to apply for admission.

  • Are Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) holders eligible to apply to SIT?

    Applicants who are not graduates from a Polytechnic in Singapore, but have completed a formal 12-year education equivalent to A levels, are eligible to apply for the following degree programmes listed here.

  • If my diploma is awarded by a foreign or private education institution, can I still apply for admission to SIT degree programmes?

    Only diplomas awarded by one of the 5 local polytechnics in Singapore will be eligible for admission to SIT. Applicants who are not graduates from a Polytechnic in Singapore, but have completed a formal 12-year education equivalent to A levels, are eligible to apply for the following degree programmes listed here.

  • In addition to my academic results, can I submit my resumes/recommendation letters from my employers/polytechnic lecturers to support my application?

    Yes, you can submit additional relevant documents to support your application by uploading them using the link provided in the online application form. E.g. Endorsement of F&B industry experience for application to CIA programme.

  • Will SIT consider part-time work experience as part of my total work experience when I apply for SIT degree programmes?

    Yes, part-time work experience will also be counted as part of your work experience.

  • How many years of work experience must I have to be considered for admission to SIT?

    We require applicants to have around 1 year of work experience depending on the degree programme you have applied to. Internships and full-time National Service are also counted as work experience.

  • How will students be selected for admission?

    Students will be selected for admission based on their overall polytechnic results, work experience/internship(s) and outcome of their interviews.

  • Should international students holding local polytechnic diplomas use the application form meant for international students, or for those with local diploma qualifications?

    International students presenting diplomas from one of the 5 polytechnics in Singapore should use the same online application form as per Singapore citizens. At Step 3 of the application, applicants are required to indicate their qualification type. Applications holding diplomas from one of the five polytechnics in Singapore can select their diplomas from the drop-down list and proceed with their applications.

  • How will I be assigned an application number?

    You will receive an application number via email after you have submitted your online application via the SIT website.). If you do not receive an application number, please check if you have clicked the 'Submit' button on your application form.

  • Can international students with academic qualifications from overseas institutions apply for admission to SIT?

    Yes, applicants who are not graduates from a Polytechnic in Singapore, but have completed a formal 12-year education equivalent to A levels, are eligible to apply for the following degree programmes at SIT listed here.

  • What are the acceptable qualifications from overseas education institutions for admission to SIT?

    Currently, qualifications from overseas education institutions will be considered for admission only to the degree programmes offered by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and the DigiPen Institute of Technology with SIT. For other degree programmes, only diplomas from the five polytechnics in Singapore will be accepted.

  • Am I required to sit for any entrance examination?

    Applicants who do not meet certain admission requirements may be required to take an entrance test.

  • Your application form requires applicants to key in the grades that they have obtained in their polytechnic studies. How should I go about inputting my grades in the application form?

    Calculate the number of Distinctions/ As/ Bs/Cs/ Ds/ Es/ Fs/ Ps that you have obtained during your polytechnic diploma course and enter them into the application form.

  • What is the format of transcripts required for uploading?

    Please upload in chronological order, i.e. from 1st to 6th semester, if applicable.

  • How do I withdraw my application after I have submitted it ?

    If you wish to withdraw your application, please email: adm@singaporetech.edu.sg (local qualifications) or adm.intl@singaporetech.edu.sg (foreign qualifications) with your full name, NRIC and application number, stating your intention to withdraw your application, and we will update your status accordingly. However, the application fees will not be refundable if you have already paid for them.

  • If I have made a mistake in my application and have already submitted it to SIT, how do I inform SIT of the amendments?

    Please email: adm@singaporetech.edu.sg (local qualifications) or adm.intl@singaporetech.edu.sg (foreign qualifications) with your full name, NRIC, application number and the correction required. We will update your application and notify you accordingly.

  • How do I update my personal particulars with SIT?

    Please email: adm@singaporetech.edu.sg (local qualifications) or adm.intl@singaporetech.edu.sg (foreign qualifications) with your full name, NRIC, application number and the update required. We will update your addresses accordingly upon receipt of your email.

  • Can I download a hard copy of the application form?

    All applications for admission are to be submitted online. Please click here to submit an online application. 

  • I have accidentally provided SIT with my original transcript. Can I retrieve my original transcript from SIT?

    All documents submitted to SIT are non-returnable. Please ensure that documents submitted to SIT are photocopies of the original document.

  • When will I be informed of the outcome of my application?

    The outcome of your application will be made known to you via email by the end of May. Outcomes of appeal cases will be known on a case-by-case basis.

  • How do I retrieve my password to my application if I have forgotten it?

    Please go to here and click on the 'Forgot your password' button. An auto-generated email will be sent to inform you of your password.

  • I have a GPA of 2.9, what are my chances of getting into one of the degree programmes?

    We will not be able to advise you of your chances of admission based on GPA alone as SIT adopts a holistic approach in assessing the applicants for admission. The following criteria are considered:

    • Polytechnic Diploma
    • Work experience/ Internships
    • Interview outcome
  • Can I apply for any of the degree programmes offered by SIT? Are there any restrictions on the programmes that I can apply for?

    You can refer to the list of relevant diplomas acceptable for admission to degree programmes.
