  • Does SIT offer part-time degree programmes?

    SIT does not offer any part-time degree programmes at the moment but will be looking into doing so for future intakes.

  • Will there be opportunities for any form of industrial attachment (IA) or overseas exchange programmes during the course of study?

    All SIT students will have the opportunity of attending a 3 – 6 week Overseas Immersion Programme at the home campuses of their overseas universities.Industrial attachments and internships are not compulsory as students would have already undergone attachments and internships as part of their diploma education. Nevertheless, there may still be opportunities for such attachments, depending on the requirements of individual degree programmes.

  • Are SIT degrees widely accepted by employers?

    SIT partners are reputable universities and industry partners. The programmes offered are industry relevant and will prepare SIT students for employment in identified growth sectors. In fact, some of our industry partners and leaders are alumni of SIT’s overseas partner universities.
  • Does SIT allow successful applicants to defer commencement of their studies for 1 to 2 years after they have been offered a place?

    Only successful male applicants who are required to serve the 2-year National Service will be allowed deferment upon their acceptance of SIT’s offer. For other applicants, any offer which is not taken up by the stipulated closing date would be deemed to have lapsed.

  • Will SIT be offering any Masters / PhD programmes in the near future?

    SIT currently focuses on offering undergraduate programmes as our priority is to provide upgrading opportunities for Singaporeans keen to pursue degree qualifications. We are open to the idea of offering Masters/PhD programmes in the future.

  • Can I apply for any SIT degree programmes? Are there any restrictions on the programmes that I can apply?

    Polytechnic graduates from relevant courses will be able to articulate directly into the SIT degree programmes, which are equivalent to the last two years of a degree programme offered by the partner universities in their home countries. You can refer to here for the list of diplomas acceptable for admission to degree programmes.

  • Does SIT offer any short courses in addition to degree programmes?

    SIT does not offer any short-courses at the moment.

  • How are the overseas universities partners selected?

    SIT works closely with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and other ministries and economic agencies, such as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Ministry of Health (MOH), Economic Development Board (EDB) and Media Development Authority (MDA), to identify the programme areas that support the growth sectors of our economy. SIT then identifies suitable universities that provide high-quality training in these areas,have good academic standing and strong industry reputation, and are committed to providing a good quality education for SIT students.
