On 5 July 2012, SIT kicked off a series of ground breaking ceremonies with Temasek Polytechnic (TP). The new SIT building located at the grounds of TP will house its current overseas university partners, The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) and The Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Construction will be completed by 2014. The new building will comprise five storeys of teaching facilities, academic offices, and two large lecture halls. SIT has also planned the construction of design studios, a culinary theatre, full-equipped training kitchens and a training cafe to accommodate the professional degrees offered by GSA and CIA. On top on that, most of the facilities in the building will face Bedok Reservoir to take advantage of the scenic location.
