The event was held at Hard Rock Café on 28 November, gathering together the newly-minted SIT graduates from the university’s overseas partners: Newcastle University, Technical University of Munich, University of Glasgow (UoG), DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore, Trinity College Dublin, The University of Manchester, The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), The Glasgow School of Art Singapore (GSA), Wheelock College Singapore, and University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

More than 200 guests, comprising SIT graduates and SIT senior management, staff and faculty, as well as representatives from SIT’s Overseas University Partners attended the alumni social, which was in its second annual edition.

Stephanie Poh who graduated with a BSC in Hospitality Management from UNLV quipped: “Awesome food, great ambience! This is definitely a great occasion to get together everyone from the different courses.”

The highlight of the evening was when the student bands took centrestage and the young musicians belted out chart toppers, including the crowd-favourite by Meghan Trainor, All About That Bass. On top of the live performances, there was plenty to keep the guests distracted, including lucky draws, ice-breaker games, as well as a photo booth where guests could deck themselves to the nines in various props and accessories.

While the party marked the beginning of a journey for SIT students as alumni, for others it also signified a milestone with a different perspective.
